The Anchor Golf Society newsletter
TAGS - The Hampshire - 28th April 2012 - 11:00am
We visit The Hampshire near Andover for the first time in the history of The Anchor Golf Society.
Bob told me to tell you that the course IS open. It will only be closed if it snows. There are 6 buggies booked but we won't know until tomorrow if they are allowed. So bring your trolley - and perhaps your carry bag? - in case we all have to walk.
Bob has also confirmed that we get a full English breakfast on arrival. So be there by 10 am for that. First tee at 11.
Website updated with 2012 Events
Just to confirm that I've updated the site with dates, time and prices of events this year.
Just click on the Events link for a slideshow of images from each course and/or a summary of events
The first competition is on Sat 28th January at Chichester Tower. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend.
Don't forget to take your chequebook to pay your yearly membership.

Dummer Scores & Tee times for weekend away
A rather soggy day, but turned out alright in the end... for those who could stay out of deep water.
Some good scores.
Well done Mr Mihell, you turned it on just in time for the weekend away.
How do you fancy playing off 7?
Well done also to those that won their round in the Knockout, the draw for the semis at Hill Barn is as follows:
Bob Whitcombe v Mick Pink
Jason Mihell/Mike Griffin v Sam Fraser.
I will see some of you at Donnington Grove and all at Hill Barn.
26-28 Aug 2011 - Weekend Away tee times
Friday 26th - JR Gilks Pairs
Combined stableford format.
Bob Lester and John Nash are defending the trophy.
We are playing for 4 NTPs prizes: 5th, 7th, 15th and 17th. And there's a birdies competition.
Chichester Results- 30 July 2011
Another great day for golf, even if it was a low scoring round.
Delayed start on Sat 30th July at Chichester Cathedral
Important message to all players at Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 30th July.
When Bob called Chichester Golf to confirm numbers he found they'd had a little faux pas with their tee reservations so we have been put back half an hour. First tee is now 11:30... so there's not much point turning up at 10 unless you want to practise down the driving range or even play 9 holes on the pitch and putt.
So, message is -
Saturday 25th June 2011 at Goodwood
There are currently 19 players confirmed for this Saturday's competition at Goodwood.
Please call Bob ASAP if you are not on the list but should be.
My gear is drying out again for the 5th time in a row.
The long range forecast is chance of precipitation 40%, clearing up by about one o'clock.
So come prepared for all eventualities.
PS. Website now updated with results from Furzeley. No updated league tables though
